Monthly Hotel Stays in Fort Worth
Published Oct 21, 2026
Fort Worth is the western half of the DFW metro for a monthly stay: hotels spread along the interstates rather than packed into one center, from downtown high-rises to budget strips on I-35W. Our October 2026 Dallas-Fort Worth list has 86 hotels in the Fort Worth area, and 65 of them publish a 30-night rate. Listed rates ran from about $62 to $181 a night, with a middle value of $105 a night. Those are listed rates for November 2 to December 2, 2026, not hotel-confirmed quotes.
The areas at a glance
- Downtown: 12 hotels in our list, the walkable core around Sundance Square, with the highest middle listed rate in the city, near $143 a night.
- Cultural District and west I-30: museums, the Will Rogers complex, and a string of hotels along the interstate.
- Fossil Creek (north, I-35W): 16 hotels, the deepest budget-to-midrange cluster, middle listed rate near $117 a night.
- Alliance (far north): 6 hotels around the Alliance corridor, built for logistics and the speedway crowd.
- Cityview (southwest, I-20): 6 hotels, middle listed rate near $136 a night, handy for the south side and Benbrook.
- Lake Worth (northwest, Loop 820): 7 hotels, middle listed rate near $106 a night.
- Medical District (near Southside): 4 hotels close to the hospital district south of downtown.
Downtown and the Cultural District
Downtown Fort Worth is the city's most walkable option for a monthly stay: Sundance Square, restaurants and the water gardens in a few blocks. You pay for it: downtown hotels in our list showed the city's highest middle listed rate, near $143 a night. Just west, the Cultural District puts the museums and Will Rogers within a short drive, with mid-range extended-stay options along I-30.
Fossil Creek and the north side
The I-35W corridor through Fossil Creek is the workhorse of the market: 16 hotels in our list, from budget brands to extended-stay suites, with a middle listed rate near $117 a night. It suits contractors, logistics workers and anyone whose job sits along I-35W or Loop 820. Further north, the Alliance area serves the warehouse and airport-logistics corridor with newer hotels and easy highway access.
Cityview and Lake Worth
Cityview, where I-20 meets the Chisholm Trail Parkway in the southwest, is the suburban choice: newer retail, chain restaurants, and 6 hotels in our list at a middle listed rate near $136 a night. Lake Worth, on Loop 820 in the northwest, is the value play on that side of town, with a middle listed rate near $106 a night.
Getting around
Fort Worth is a driving city, and your commute corridor should pick your area, not the other way round. One exception: TEXRail runs between downtown Fort Worth and DFW Airport Terminal B, so an airport-adjacent job is workable from downtown without a car, per Trinity Metro's TEXRail page checked on October 21, 2026. DFW Airport itself is roughly 25 miles east, and Dallas is another 30 miles beyond it.
Prices and taxes on a monthly stay
Across the 86 Fort Worth-area hotels in our October 2026 list, 65 publish a 30-night rate, from about $62 to $181 a night with a middle value of $105 a night. Listed rates for November 2 to December 2, 2026, not hotel-confirmed quotes; ask the hotel for the full monthly total in writing.
On taxes: Texas charges a 6 percent state hotel tax, and guests who stay 30 or more days and notify the hotel in writing beforehand are exempt from it from the day of notification, per the Texas Comptroller's FAQ checked on October 21, 2026. The City of Fort Worth adds its own 9 percent hotel occupancy tax, per the city's remittance page checked on October 21, 2026, and local rules on long stays can differ from state rules, so ask the hotel to show each tax line. This is general information, not tax advice.
What we found
Two findings from our research. First, depth where it counts: Fossil Creek and the north side carry the most choice, so budget monthly stays are easy to compare there. Second, Fort Worth is not the cheaper half of DFW in our data: its middle listed rate of $105 a night sits above Dallas proper's $93 across the 60 priced Dallas hotels in the same list. The downtown premium inside Fort Worth is real but modest: the middle listed rate downtown is about $38 a night above the city-wide middle. Listed rates from our October 2026 research, not hotel-confirmed quotes.
